What do I need to get started?
Last updated: March 26, 2026
Getting started with Race Ninja is straightforward. Here's everything you need to start analyzing your on-track performance.
Quick Checklist
- ✅ Compatible camera (GoPro Hero 9, 10, 11, or 13 with GPS enabled — or DJI Osmo 360 with Bluetooth GPS Remote)
- ✅ Race Ninja account (sign up for free at race.ninja)
- ✅ Racing video with GPS data (recorded at your track day or race)
Critical requirement: GPS must be active before you start recording
For GoPro: enable GPS in the settings menu and wait 1-2 minutes after powering on for satellite lock — you'll see a solid GPS icon when it's ready.
For DJI Osmo 360: pair and power on the Bluetooth GPS Remote before recording starts.
Camera Compatibility
| Model | Compatible |
|---|---|
| GoPro Hero 9, 10, 11, 13 | ✅ Fully supported |
| GoPro Hero 12 | ❌ No GPS - not supported |
| DJI Osmo 360 (with Bluetooth GPS Remote) | ✅ Fully supported |
Once You're Ready
The workflow is simple:
- Upload: Head to your Garage and upload your video
- Wait: We'll process your video and extract GPS data (typically 5-10 minutes for GoPro; 30-40 minutes for DJI Osmo 360)
- Analyze: Review your lap times, racing line, and performance insights
- Improve: Use the data to identify areas for improvement and track your progress
