What do I need to get started?

Last updated: March 26, 2026

Getting started with Race Ninja is straightforward. Here's everything you need to start analyzing your on-track performance.

Quick Checklist

  • Compatible camera (GoPro Hero 9, 10, 11, or 13 with GPS enabled — or DJI Osmo 360 with Bluetooth GPS Remote)
  • Race Ninja account (sign up for free at race.ninja)
  • Racing video with GPS data (recorded at your track day or race)

Critical requirement: GPS must be active before you start recording

For GoPro: enable GPS in the settings menu and wait 1-2 minutes after powering on for satellite lock — you'll see a solid GPS icon when it's ready.
For DJI Osmo 360: pair and power on the Bluetooth GPS Remote before recording starts.

Camera Compatibility

Model Compatible
GoPro Hero 9, 10, 11, 13 ✅ Fully supported
GoPro Hero 12 ❌ No GPS - not supported
DJI Osmo 360 (with Bluetooth GPS Remote) ✅ Fully supported

Once You're Ready

The workflow is simple:

  • Upload: Head to your Garage and upload your video
  • Wait: We'll process your video and extract GPS data (typically 5-10 minutes for GoPro; 30-40 minutes for DJI Osmo 360)
  • Analyze: Review your lap times, racing line, and performance insights
  • Improve: Use the data to identify areas for improvement and track your progress
