Is there an alternative to Telemetry Overlay?
Race Ninja is one, and it comes at the problem from the other end. Telemetry Overlay is a desktop app you buy once, and it's very good at rendering gauges onto your footage. Race Ninja reads the same GPS from your camera but analyses the session too: lap times, sector splits, racing lines and coaching, with overlays included rather than being the whole product.
Can Race Ninja put telemetry overlays on my video?
Yes. Speed, lap time, a track map, sector deltas and more, rendered onto your laps in the video editor. You pick the gauges you want and where they sit.
What's the actual difference between an overlay tool and an analysis platform?
An overlay tool makes your video show what happened. An analysis platform tells you why. A speed gauge shows 62 km/h into turn 3; the analysis shows your quickest lap carried 65 through the same corner, and points at where the difference came from.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in the browser. Upload the footage and the processing happens on our side, so there's no render tying up your laptop after a track day.
Which cameras work?
GoPros with GPS switched on (HERO13, 11, 10 and 9 among them, but not the HERO12, which has no GPS) and DJI Osmo Action cameras paired with the GPS remote.
