What happens to my data if I downgrade?

Your racing data is important to us, and we never delete it without your permission. When you downgrade your plan, we preserve your data according to clear retention policies - you won't lose years of hard work.
Your Data is Safe
We don't punish downgrades. Your analyses, personal bests, and leaderboard entries remain accessible based on your current plan's retention policy. Downgrading changes access, not data.
Data Retention by Plan

What "View-Only" Means
When an analysis becomes view-only due to retention limits, you can still:
- ✅ Watch the video with telemetry overlay
- ✅ View lap times and sector splits
- ✅ See your personal best markers
- ✅ Access AI coaching insights that were generated
You cannot:
- ❌ Re-analyze the video (e.g., adjust sector markers)
- ❌ Generate new Perfect Lap videos from that session
- ❌ Download new MP4 exports (but previously downloaded files are yours forever)
Think of it like a photo album - you can browse and enjoy, but the editing tools are locked.
What Stays Forever (Regardless of Plan)
These Never Disappear
- ✅ Personal best lap times: Your fastest laps are saved permanently in your profile
- ✅ Leaderboard entries: Your positions and records remain on the leaderboards
- ✅ Downloaded files: Any MP4s, data exports, or Perfect Lap videos you've downloaded are yours to keep
- ✅ Account history: Your racing locations, tracks visited, and session count
Downgrade Scenarios
Pro → Clubman:
- ☐ Analyses older than 1 year become view-only
- ☐ Monthly upload limit reduces to 3 analyses
- ☐ Video quality drops to 720p for new uploads
- ☐ All recent analyses (last 12 months) remain fully accessible
Clubman → Rookie:
- ☐ Analyses older than 30 days become view-only
- ☐ Monthly upload limit reduces to 1 analysis
- ☐ Video quality drops to 480p for new uploads
- ☐ Leaderboard access becomes view-only (can see, can't submit new times)
- ☐ MP4 download and Perfect Lap features disabled for new analyses
How to Preserve Everything
If you're downgrading but want permanent access to specific analyses:
- Before downgrading: Download MP4 exports of important sessions
- Export data: Save telemetry data or Perfect Lap videos you want to keep
- Screenshot key insights: Capture AI coaching tips or sector analysis you want to reference
Once downloaded, these files are yours forever - no plan required to view them.
Upgrade Anytime
If you downgrade and later upgrade, all view-only analyses become fully accessible again. We don't delete them - we just lock editing features based on your current plan.
Analysis Packs Never Expire
If you've purchased Analysis Packs (pay-as-you-go bundles), those credits never expire regardless of your subscription plan. You can use them even on the free Rookie plan to analyze sessions with full Clubman-tier features.
