What is a "Perfect Lap"?
Last updated: January 30, 2026
The Perfect Lap is your theoretical best lap time — it combines the fastest sector times you've achieved across all your laps into one "perfect" lap.
Think of it this way: maybe you nailed Turn 1 in Lap 3, crushed the middle section in Lap 7, and had your best final sector in Lap 5. We take those individual best performances and combine them to show you what time you could achieve if you put it all together in a single lap.
💡 Why this matters: Your Perfect Lap shows your true potential. If there's a big gap between your Perfect Lap time and your actual best lap, you know there's more speed to unlock — you've already proven you can do it!
What You'll See on the Perfect Lap Tab
- ✅ Perfect Lap Time: The combined time of your best sectors
- ✅ Time Delta: How much faster the Perfect Lap is compared to your actual best lap
- ✅ Sector Breakdown: Which lap each "perfect" sector came from
- ✅ Synchronized Video: Watch your best sectors stitched together
Example: Putting It Together
Let's say you ran 5 laps at Silverstone:
| Lap | Sector 1 | Sector 2 | Sector 3 | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lap 1 | 28.5s | 35.2s | 32.1s | 1:35.8 |
| Lap 2 | 29.1s | 34.7s | 31.8s | 1:35.6 (Best Lap) |
| Lap 3 | 28.9s | 35.0s | 31.2s | 1:35.1 |
Your actual best lap was Lap 2 at 1:35.6.
But your Perfect Lap combines the best sectors: 28.5s + 34.7s + 31.2s = 1:34.4 — that's 1.2 seconds faster than your best lap! That gap tells you there's more speed to find, and you've already proven you can go that fast in each section.
Note: The Perfect Lap is a motivational tool to show your potential. It doesn't account for factors like tire wear, traffic, or the flow between sectors — but it's a great benchmark for what's possible.
