Rental Cadet, Junior, Senior and Heavyweight now have leaderboards
Race Ninja now has four Rental classes: Rental Cadet, Rental Junior, Rental Senior and Rental Heavyweight. Your track decides who runs in which. Set the class in Equipment, click Save Tags, and your laps go on the boards if you're on a paid plan, the session was paid for, or you've shared it to the Showcase.
Hired a kart at the weekend and wondered where your lap really sits? Rental racers now have four classes of their own on the Race Ninja leaderboards: Rental Cadet, Rental Junior, Rental Senior and Rental Heavyweight.
Which Rental class is yours?
The track decides, not us. Every venue sets the ages and weights for its hire karts, so pick the class your track put you in. Tick Rental kart on your session and all the rental classes jump to the top of the Race Class list, with Daytona and Club 100 right behind.
The boards just opened up
Your laps count when your session has a race class and you're on a paid plan, the session was paid for, or you've shared it to the Showcase. Engine, chassis and tyres aren't required.
Sharing to the Showcase also puts your fastest laps on the public boards under your first initial and surname. You can opt out in Equipment whenever you like.
Paid members still get the most. Every session of theirs counts without sharing anything, they keep their extras, from AI coaching to the Perfect Lap video, and there's loads more coming for them.
Why it matters
A lap record doesn't exist unless you can prove it. Race Ninja lets you prove you're fast, not just say you're fast. Every time on a board comes from onboard video, so anyone can watch the lap behind the number.
Track pages now show the record holder for every class. For the youngest classes it's the time only, no name. Have a look at the track pages or the leaderboards and see what's there to beat.
Don't forget Save Tags
Set your class on the website, not in the iOS app. Open Equipment on your results page (it's called Session Tags on mobile), type your class, then click Save Tags. Miss that last click and nothing is saved. Earlier this year we added the Rental kart tick, and our post on rental kart laps has the background.

The Race Ninja app is open. Your phone carries the footage, we do the thinking
The Race Ninja app for iPhone, iPad and Apple silicon Macs is open to everyone through TestFlight. It shrinks your footage in the paddock, sends it up, and your analysis comes back in about a minute a lap.
