Hire a kart. Your lap still counts

Hire a DMAX for the weekend and your fastest lap used to die in the car park. You handed it back. The time went with it.

Not any more.

The public leaderboards just opened up. A lot more drivers show on the boards at each track now, and a lot more race classes sit next to them. If you race a hire kart or a club DMAX, you don't need to register an engine and a chassis you don't own. Set your race class. Your lap shows up.

New tick in your session tags: Rental kart. Flip it when you hired the machine, and the board prints Rental instead of a blank kit line. No serial numbers. You don't have to pretend you own the thing.

Same board as the owner-drivers

Say you book a DMAX at Daytona on Saturday and run a tidy 48.9. Next bay over, a bloke who owns his kart is doing the same session with a number on the engine. Both of you film it, and both of you land on the same board, times sitting next to each other, class for class. Pace against pace, not paddock politics.

And if you pay for Race Ninja, those times now land on the boards the way they should. You did the session. The time belongs on the list.

Still verified. Still from your camera.

Every time on that board comes off your own onboard footage and its GPS. You can't type a number in. Nobody claims a 46 that never happened. If you filmed it, and the satellites locked, the lap is real.

That's the promise. The board is what you actually drove, not what you said you drove.
