The data always told the story. Now Race Ninja reads it to you

You've got the graphs. Speed traces, sector breakdowns, corner matrices, G-force overlays. It's all there on the results page and it always has been.

But here's the question that kept coming up. What does it actually mean?

Not everyone racing karts has a data engineer in the family. Most people look at the charts, see some lines going up and down, and wonder which bit matters. The data was always good. The gap was turning it into something you can act on without a degree in telemetry.

Data Insights, right where the charts are

Every data section on your results page now gets a short summary. Two or three sentences, written in plain language, sitting right above the chart it's talking about. We scan your session data and report back what we found, quick enough to read between runs.

No jargon. No guessing. Just "this is what the numbers say, and this is what you can do about it."

What Data Insights tell you

Five sections, each one answering a different question.

Lap consistency looks at how repeatable your laps were. It ignores the outliers and works out a percentage. If you were here last month it compares the two sessions. "Your middle laps varied by 4.0%. Last time you were at 1.1%." That's useful. You know something changed.

Engine and chassis takes the speed, G-force and grip data and compares it to your previous visit. But it also checks the weather. A cooler day changes air density. That changes power. A warmer track changes grip. So before you start blaming the chassis, Race Ninja tells you whether the conditions already explain the difference. And if you did make a setup change between sessions, it tells you whether the data says it worked.

Not everyone can change their setup. Rental drivers don't touch jetting or tyre pressures. The insight knows that, so it only ever frames setup as an "if". No assumptions about what kind of kart you're in.

Sector focus is the one that saves you time. It finds where you're leaving the most on the table and tells you straight. "Sector 1 is costing you 0.45 seconds on average. Turn 2 is the worst corner." It checks your history at this track, finds a session where you took that same corner faster in similar conditions, and gives you the date and the lap number. So you can go and watch it.

That's the bit that used to take twenty minutes with a spreadsheet. Or it just didn't happen.

Corner matrix picks out your weakest and your strongest corner across the whole session. Something like: "your weakest corner is 0.4 seconds off your best, while your strongest you're nailing within a tenth every lap." Then it points you at Head-to-Head to compare a good lap against a bad one.

Ultimate lap sits on the Perfect Lap tab and shows the gap between today's theoretical best and your all-time theoretical best at this track. "Your ultimate lap draws from your best sessions, meaning you've never put it all together in one lap." That's something to aim at next time.

It works on sessions you've already uploaded

You don't need to go and record something new. Open any session with GPS data and it'll backfill for you automatically. The insights generate the first time you look at each section, then they're saved. Takes a couple of seconds.

If you upload a new session at a track you've been to before, the insights compare automatically. No setup required.

This is the first version. The sector focus already references your own history. We're building toward insights that track your progression over weeks and spot patterns in your driving style. And that flag when something changed that you didn't intend. If your kart starts losing half a second over a meeting, you should know about it before the chequered flag.
