Your overlay just got weather!

You lined the speed number up over the apex. Then you downloaded the clip and it sat ever so slightly off.

The Video Editor now puts things where you put them. Colours too. The name is the colour you picked. The track line is the thickness you chose. Drag it, size it, pick a look, and the file you download is that picture. It's had a much needed fine tune!

Weather from that lap, on that lap

There's a new tray in the list. Weather.

Race Ninja already knows what the air was doing when you filmed. So you can drop that onto the clip instead of guessing later from a forecast screenshot. Air temp. Track temp. Wind, with an arrow that turns with you so a headwind points down the screen. Humidity, pressure, a condition icon, even how it felt.

That's the bit people actually share. Not "I did a 48.9." A 48.9 in 11 degrees with the wind cutting down the back straight.

What a HUD tool still won't do for you

Telemetry Overlay is still a strong desktop app if you just want gauges on a ski run or a bike ride. It won't time your laps. It doesn't already know the weather at your circuit that morning. We wrote the honest comparison if you want the longer version.

RaceChrono and Harry's will put a phone HUD on a clip, if you bolt a phone to the kart. We start from the camera you already race with. Then the overlay sits on top of the analysis, not instead of it.

A Saturday at Whilton, on the video

You book a run. It's cold and the wind is ugly down the back. You upload the original GoPro file, open the editor, park Air Temp and Wind next to your speed. When you send the lap to the group chat, they can see why that time was hard.

No extra box. No weather station. If the session has weather, the items are sitting in the tray waiting to be switched on.

Try it on a session you already have

Send the original file up from your analysis history. Don't re-encode it first. Open the Video Editor on the results page. Nudge a gauge. Switch on Air Temp and Wind. Render one lap and hold it next to the preview.

Not sure the camera logged GPS? Check the camera list before you waste a card. And if you cut in DaVinci or Premiere, the Editor format from last week is still the one you want for a transparent layer. This update is about the picture matching, and the weather from that lap sitting on it.
