Find the lap time hiding in your corners

A
· 2 min read

Corner Analysis breaks down every corner of your session lap by lap, showing entry speed, slowest speed, average speed, exit speed and time spent in the corner. It shows whether you braked too early or carried too much speed in, lets you compare laps side by side with each line drawn on the track map, and we've added it to your past sessions too, so you can make a change and prove it made you quicker.

Most drivers chase the straights. The corners are where the lap time actually lives.

Think about it. A tenth here, a tenth there, across a dozen corners, every single lap. That's where a session is won or lost. The trouble has always been knowing which corner, and what to change. You feel like Turn 4 is costing you. But feel isn't proof.

Now you've got proof.

See every corner, every lap

Corner Analysis breaks your session down corner by corner, lap by lap. Open the tab and there's a grid: every corner down the side, every lap across the top. Each box shows how long you spent in that corner and how fast you left it. Green where you were quick, red where you bled time. One glance and the problem corner jumps out.

Tap any corner and it opens right up. Your speed going in. Your slowest point through the middle. Your average speed across the whole corner, and the speed you carried out onto the next straight. Plus the bit that quietly costs people the most: where your slowest point actually sits. Slow too early and you braked before you needed to. Slow too late and you carried too much in and ran wide. The number tells you which.

Compare the laps that worked

Pick a corner and put every lap side by side. Now you can see the line that worked. Maybe lap 6 was half a second quicker through Turn 4, and the data shows you braked later and carried four more mph at the apex. That's not a feeling. That's a plan for next time.

And you can see it. Each lap's racing line through the corner draws on the track map in its own colour, so you can hold the fast line up against the slow one and flick the laps you don't care about off.

Change something, then prove it worked

This is the whole point. Change something next session, where you brake or where you turn in, then look at the same corner again and see if the numbers moved. You stop guessing and start measuring. That's how corners get quicker, and quicker corners are quicker laps.

It's already on your old sessions

One more thing, and it's a good one. We didn't just switch this on for new uploads. We went back through your old ones. Open a session from weeks ago and the corner breakdown is already there, waiting. Every lap you've ever logged just got a lot more to say.

Go open your last session and find your worst corner. It's in there. Then go fix it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Corner Analysis show me?
For every corner on every lap: your entry speed, slowest speed, average speed through the corner, exit speed and the time you spent in it. It also shows whether your slowest point came before or after the tightest part of the corner, which tells you if you braked too early or carried too much speed in.
How do I find where I'm losing time in a corner?
Open the Corner Analysis tab and look at the grid. Red boxes are the corners where you lost time. Tap one to see the speeds and the time for that corner on every lap, then compare your quick laps against your slow ones to see what was different.
Can I compare the same corner across different laps?
Yes. Pick a corner and every lap lines up side by side, with each lap's racing line drawn on the track map in its own colour. Switch laps on and off to compare just the ones you want.
Does this work on my older sessions?
Yes. We've added it to past sessions as well as new ones, so you can open a session from weeks ago and the full corner breakdown is already there.
