About Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve
Part of the Algarve Motorsports Park near Portimão in southern Portugal, opened in 2010 alongside the F1-grade autodrome that hosts MotoGP and World Superbikes. The kart circuit is one of the largest in Europe at 1,532m, with 17 corners and a fast main straight where the quickest karts touch 160km/h.
It has held the FIA Karting World Championship more than once, for OK and OK-Junior in 2020 and for the KZ shifter class in 2024, plus European Championship rounds in 2016 and 2022. The complex has a five-star hotel and hospitality suites, so it works as a destination weekend as much as a race venue. The lap record stands to Ben Hanley at 56.1 seconds.
