About Surbiton Raceway

Surbiton Raceway (established in 1962) is a staple of South London karting. Unlike the polished, corporate feel of the big chains, Surbiton offers a gritty, authentic racing experience. The track is a 700m outdoor circuit that features two main straights and a challenging mix of 5 right-handers and 2 left-handers. It uses the modern Sodi RT10 gas karts, which are industry standard for performance.

The circuit offers 2 different track layouts ranging from 300m to 700m, with adult karts reaching 50 mph.

Facilities include Food Available, Kart Shop, Licensed Bar, Paddock Area, Parking and more.

Tips for New Drivers

Dress for the weather. Surbiton Raceway is outdoors so you'll want layers in winter and sun cream in summer. These karts are properly fast. Smooth inputs matter more than aggression here. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your session for the briefing and to get kitted out. Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don't mind getting a bit grubby. Don't eat a massive meal right before racing. Trust us on this one.
