About ProKart Raceland Wackersdorf
One of the largest and most professional kart facilities in Germany, opened in August 1997 on a 70,000 square metre site in the Upper Palatinate, about 100km north-east of Munich. The ground was once earmarked for a nuclear reprocessing plant, the subject of fierce protests in the 1980s, and is now an industrial and leisure park.
ProKart pairs a 1,190m outdoor circuit with a 480m indoor hall, so it runs year-round. It has hosted the FIA Karting World Championship for the KZ and KZ2 shifter classes twice, in 2017 and 2023, which puts it in a small group of circuits to hold the event more than once. The Bavarian 24-hour endurance race is the highlight of its calendar, now past its 25th edition.
