What cameras are supported?

Last updated: October 17, 2026

GoPro Hero 9, 10, 11 and 13 work out of the box, because they record GPS into the video. DJI Action 4, Action 5 and Action 6 and the Osmo 360 work with the DJI GPS Remote paired. The Hero 12 has no GPS chip, so it can't time laps on its own. Add a lap timer or logger file from the same session and it works.

Older Hero 5 to Hero 8 Black models record GPS and should work, not officially tested by us. We read that GPS to calculate lap times, speeds and racing lines, so a track has to be in the file. The live list is kept on the cameras page, which is the one to check before you buy.

DJI Osmo 360: Bluetooth GPS Remote required

The DJI Osmo 360 does not have built-in GPS. Action 4, 5 and 6 don't either. To use them with Race Ninja, pair the DJI Bluetooth GPS Remote before recording. This accessory provides the GPS telemetry we need for lap timing and speed data.

GoPro Hero 12

The GoPro Hero 12 has no GPS chip, so it can't time laps on its own. Add a lap timer or logger file from the same session and it works. You can still upload the footage.

The Hero 12 uses the same batteries and accessories as the Hero 10 and 11.

What About Other Cameras?

We support GoPro and DJI. GoPro is the industry standard for motorsport with proven GPS accuracy and reliability. A DJI Action 4, 5 or 6 paired with the GPS Remote gives the same lap timing. The Osmo 360 brings something unique: an interactive 360° video player that lets you look in any direction as you replay your laps, a completely different way to review your on-track footage.

We may support additional cameras in the future, but these are our supported platforms right now.
