About Åsum Ring

The Åsum Ring is run by the Kristianstad Karting Klubb in Skåne, southern Sweden, about 80km north-east of Malmö. The 1,234m circuit has 16 corners and a 6m elevation change that makes it genuinely selective, and it has been on the FIA Karting international calendar since 2014.

It has hosted the FIA Karting World Championship for OK and OK-Junior twice, in 2018 and again in 2025, plus a European Championship round in 2022. The club has invested heavily in its camping area, which now has 134 electric hookup spots. Sitting close to the Baltic coast, the weather can turn quickly, something every FIA event preview seems to mention.

Tips for New Drivers

That 6m of elevation is unusual for a kart track and it rewards drivers who read the gradient through the corners. Don't fight the camber, use it. The sea is close, so a dry session can go damp fast. Keep an eye on the sky and have a wet setup in mind. Competition juniors start from age 12, and the on-site camping makes a race weekend simple.
